Video¶
Video adds the layer the other sources leave out: the embodied interaction, which screen, which soft-key, which physical handle, in what order, and which action the system refuses.
Relay testing is the richest and most public genre: A step-by-step tutorial on GOOSE between DIGSI 4 and DIGSI 5 works through configuring and testing the messaging across SIPROTEC 4 and SIPROTEC 5, a Siemens wiring-test walkthrough covers SIPROTEC 5 using SIPROTEC Tools, a secondary-injection test runs against the Omicron CMC 356, a DIGSI 5 and SIPROTEC DigitalTwin session sets up a test mode on the 7SX85, and OMICRON’s own series covers testing of protection and measurement equipment.
Retrieving stored evidence through the engineering tool is the subject made literal in a walkthrough of downloading the record and fault logs from a SIPROTEC 5 relay using DIGSI 5, the engineering workstation reaching into the relay to pull the event and disturbance records the device retains.
Commissioning overlaps that cluster, since the wiring-test and DigitalTwin sessions are commissioning-phase activities. A commissioning video verifies that the CILO interlock releases across input combinations and traces a signal through the substation automation system to the control centre. The interlock that refuses to open a disconnector under load is the same CILO logical node encoded in open-source substation models.
A control-room virtual tour of SurvalentONE SmartVU is described by the vendor as a guided walkthrough of a real-world setup, operators and dispatchers monitoring outages, feeder health, substations and KPIs across integrated SCADA, OMS and DMS. Survalent is not Stedin’s platform, which runs e-terra under GE.
Stedin’s own recruitment and open-day material shows staff at real high-voltage stations. The generic workflow is on film in abundance; the specific Stedin switching sequence and the e-terra screens stay inside the control room.
